Abide was founded and is led by Rachel Glabe Taylor.

Rachel holds a Master’s of Architecture from Princeton University and a Bachelor’s of Architecture from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, with a minor in Real Property Development. Her interest in architecture began in childhood, and she has worked in the field since 2003.

Rachel’s work spans multiple scales, guided by a collaborative and cohesive approach to design. She begins each project with careful listening, and gathering of information to establish a design direction grounded in the client’s unique goals and needs. From site context, floor plan, and exterior expression to interior finishes and fixtures, she considers both macro and micro elements to create cohesive, meaningful designs.

She has recently expanded her practice to include custom furniture design, collaborating with local craftsmen.

Outside of practice, Rachel is a mother of three, a teacher, and an avid outdoors enthusiast.
